Antares, who is he?
Antares is the Dragon Emperor, the ruler and the strongest of the Monarchs. A being of near-divine power, he embodies destruction and reigns over the forces that seek to annihilate humanity.
The King of the Monarchs
Among all the Monarchs, Antares is the one whom the others fear and respect. His dominance is absolute: he commands the armies of chaos and bears on his shoulders the thousand-year war against the Rulers and their champions.
Unmatched power
Flight, a devastating breath, colossal strength: Antares possesses all the abilities of a legendary dragon, multiplied by his status as a Monarch. Rare are those who can even stand against him, which makes his final opponent all the more impressive.
The final duel against Sung Jin-Woo
It is against Antares that Sung Jin-Woo fights the most decisive battle of his existence. This titanic duel, the pinnacle of the series, pits the Shadow Monarch against the Dragon Emperor for the fate of the world.
Antares in the anime and the manhwa
Antares appears in the grand finale of the story. To experience this legendary confrontation, the manhwa and the light novel are essential — the anime has not yet reached this arc.

What does Antares look like?
Antares can transform into a gigantic red dragon with burning scales, glowing eyes, and bristling with immense horns. His mere appearance is enough to inspire terror — he embodies pure, raw power.
The Breath of Destruction
His most feared attack is the Breath of Destruction: a blast so powerful that it can reduce an average S-rank hunter to ashes in an instant, cancel out most of Jin-Woo's attacks, and permanently destroy the shadow soldiers that stand in his way — a unique threat to the Shadow Army.
The oldest and most powerful of the Monarchs
Antares is the oldest and strongest of the nine Monarchs, and the final antagonist of Solo Leveling. In the story, he is permanently defeated by Sung Jin-Woo after a fierce war in an isolated dimensional rift. His fall marks the conclusion of the entire story.
