Tarnak: Monarch of the Iron Body in Solo Leveling

In Solo Leveling, the Monarchs are nine of the most powerful entities of destruction in the universe, opposed to the Rulers (the Fragments of Brilliant Light) in a millenary cosmic war. For an overview of this mythology, see the complete guide on the Rulers and Monarchs.

Tarnak, the Monarch of Iron Body in Solo Leveling

Who is Tarnak?

Tarnak is the Monarch of Iron Body, one of the nine Monarchs of Solo Leveling. His specialty: extraordinary physical resistance. His body, hard as steel, makes him extremely difficult to injure.

While other Monarchs focus on offense, Tarnak is primarily a wall: a living fortress that is almost impossible to break.

Durability as a weapon

Tarnak's domain is based on pure defense. This phenomenal endurance makes him a war of attrition opponent: he takes hits, resists, and wears down his enemies, which makes him formidable over time.

Tarnak in the cosmic conflict

Alongside the other Monarchs, Tarnak participates in the war against the Rulers. His robustness makes him a defensive cornerstone of the camp led by Antares.

The origins of the Monarchs

Each Monarch embodies a facet of destruction. Conceived as primordial forces pitted against the Rulers, they lead a millenary war. Tarnak is its bastion: defense rendered absolute, capable of holding where everything should collapse.

The Monarchs, the gates, and Sung Jin-Woo

This war does not spare Earth: the rifts that multiply there are the harbingers of the Monarchs' assault, and the reason why a champion was prepared in the shadows. Discover how the gates and dungeons work, the System that enables level-ups, and the journey of Sung Jin-Woo, the heir to the Shadow Monarch.
